Alloy Pittsburgh: Artist Residency at the
Carrie Blast Furnace, Rankin, PA
In this installation, I investigated the overlaps between language, power, and domestic life. Inspired by the general absence of female experience in the U.S. steel industry, I brought allusions of home into the blast furnace site. By creating a bed-fence encasing domestic fixtures, I sought to frame and question a definition of female within the context of labor divisions.
